Off topic ... sort of.
What do you think of the new folding drones?

Free thread bump if it's too off topic.

Karma is sh**.. but DJI Mavic is good.. ;) I really want one, too bad that they still are hard to get.. and I hear they cost about 25tr here.. thants the one with drone, controller and one bat.. and one fact is that one battery is not enough..

Fred

I heard Gopro had a sheetstorm with their drone, and that's pretty much finished that off for me and it seems a lot of others, maybe even the company.
DJI's offering looks good, their opening package here offering the drone, controller and two batteries, but it doesn't come cheap.
The anti object avoidance is sparkling, the dude in the shop telling me to point the drone to the wall and hit the gas. I did, but the aircraft refused to hit the wall.

A bunch of new stuff is in line for release, including this baby.

It's very likely the folding drone market is going to mushroom with high spec units but at more affordable prices.

Opinions?

If you are a frequent traveler is a good option which offers 4K Video with a 12MP camera and 3 axis gimbal plus near flight time of the P4.
Price is $999 in DJI store but here you need to spend 25 Million VND. Prices of good are cheap in Ha Noi but service and parts may delay.
Foldable droned are compact enough to carry.
Anyway I like the look and power of Phantom series :D

Yeah, Karma is getting bad reviews.
In DJI box you have the aircraft, RC, 16GB micro SD, props, battery charger, RC cables, Micro USB cable, Intelligent battery....
I heard from a FB friend, one company in HCMC asked 2 M for booking.

I have a Yuneec Q500 4K with extras if anyone is really interested in a great drone. I have only used it twice and never with the camera mounted. I have the remote device that allows it to follow you anywhere and film you without you doing anything. really cool feature I think.

charmavietnam

I just messaged :D

Fred

I would love the offering from DJI but I just can't justify spending that much cash one something I won't use all that much.
If anyone has any opinions on this baby, I'd be interested in your comments.

charmavietnam

With little addition of  price you can buy a P3S which is bit larger and powerful IMHO. Also video quality is better than xplorer mini and not shaky because of the 3 axis gimbal. For short distance and low altitude flying, it's okay. But still if you are looking for a smart and small size Mavic Pro is the best bet but will cost you more :D

I'm a poor man, hardly able to afford pizza and the drone is not going to get all that much use.
I think I'm going to have to play with a few to get an idea.

charmavietnam

I seen your photographs so just suggested for future use :D
If you are a beginner and POOR (:D) then buy one Syma or H2O Aviax which costs below $50 and powerful motors for hobby purpose. Syma comes with a low resolution camera which is not useful to you :D
After you mastered you WILL buy a professional quad copter, am sure!
High cost drones are easy to fly.

I must add, it absolutely has to be pocket sized or it'll never get carried about.
I walk for miles, so anything heavy is a non starter.
I took a look at the P3, but rejected it because of its size.

The ideal would be something with a half reasonable camera, easy to fly with auto take off and landing, but folds up to the smallest size possible so it can be carried in a belt pouch and controlled by the phone so no need to carry a controller.

Does anyone know of any of the clubs that are approved by the Ministry of Defense to issue drone licenses. I know there is one, but lost their contact info.

CurrentlyDebugging

thats some usefull info I also intend to buy one but not at the moment i have a a lil long checklist that needs to be done

what do you think of buying 2nd hand from someone who doesn't want it any more?

Diazo

I had one. But just got rid of it. I think the clubs are call aviation clubs. But it is illegal to fly a drone here without the permission of the MoD. One fella was summarily deported. The clubs have the training required by the MoD which the MoD approves them to license you. The exercise it that you are told where you can not fly. The obvious, but still....

anybody knows where i can play my drone in saigon? i live in district 2, i heard there is a place near former METRO, i just don't know exactly where, i'm new to smashing drone waaaaaa
thanks \(0_____o)/

charmavietnam

There are so many places you can fly drones but be careful with people and no fly zones. I usually fly my small drones in parks and DJI P3 in out of crowded area :D
