Brazil sees sharp rise in yellow fever cases

Health officials in Brazil say there has been a sharp rise in the cases of yellow fever in the country.

They said there had been 63 confirmed cases of the mosquito-borne illness so far this year, up from seven in the whole of 2016.

Most of the cases have been in rural areas of Minas Gerais state, a Ministry of Health statement said.

I had to be vaccinated in order to travel back to South Africa from Brazil.....in otherwords if you live in South Africa the law in SA states you have to show a yellow fever card on entering and leaving, as SA used to have yellow fever but it has been eradicated.

It was an awful vaccination I felt sick for two days afterwards with a mild fever and no energy I can only attribute to been from the vaccine.
