to Dubai by a rented car

Post new topic

We think about our vacation for March. Actually it was planned but crises in Egypt ruined all our plans. Now we are thinking to go to Dubai by car but can't use our Saudi car to go abroad. Is there any possibility to go by a rented car to Dubai? How can we pass formalities on the border on a rented car? Need your experience.

Or may be you can advise any other destinations to go by plane but not very far from Saudi Arabia and not very expensive. Any experiences are welcome. Thanks

Car hire is possible.

When you reserve your car, you inform the car hire company that you are intending to take the car out of the country.

There is a form to complete for which you have to go to the police station for them to stamp. (confirmation that there are no police issues outstanding)

The hire charge is higher than the normal rate.

The car hire company provides the documents that you need to across the border.

If you search my posts, I have detailed the route and what to expect at the border. (going from Riyadh to Dubai)

Hello there, i think tht by March. things in Egypt will be much better, we start to go to work today & things is getting more to normal, only some areas are crowded with protesters in downtown Cairo, so if u plan to go to sharm el sheikh or any other touristic place, it will be a normal situation there..

Hello Amiligy, Welcome on board,

I think you are offtopic! :/ Your message doesn't have any connection with the discussion I think!

Amiligy is not offtopic! I wish we could come to Egypt, so any information about changes in Egypt is very helpful.

I think saudi Uk has given you the info required..
another way that you can go is by bus.. tiring, long but then you wont have to drive.. and then take a rent a car there.
