I am sure everyone is concerned about thursday and the romours of a possible uprising.
Maybe we should all share advice on ways to stay safe....
Don't believe everything you hear. Nothing will happen on Thursday apart from the usual rush to get home early.
or get to the farms early to take advantage of the recent Tunisian imports...
Yeah heard alot about it but anything of that sort happening in Libya is next to impossible. Though it would be advisable to stock up supplies and to avoid crowds this weekend.
Thursday is usually a run up for Friday in Arab world. Still, don't believe any serious thing will happen. We'll watch you from far (long planned holiday:)

isn't that what they said about Egypt?
We'll watch you from far (long planned holiday:)Just as well Libyans are doing it for themselves eh?
All hell is breaking loose NOWÌý Hold on to your seats folks..
So what actually is going on?
I am actually concerned, but I try not to make decisions based on rumours.Ìý Does anyone have any CONFIRMED information regarding the protest on Thursday?Ìý Not chinese whispers please, actual facts.
You can try using Google Alerts, put the terms in like 'Libya' and you get an e mail every day with the latest search results.
It does through up a lot of Twitter traffic, but you get the odd gem from sources you'd not normally check.
Have kept up with the above. Grab bag ready, copy of passport(its in for new residency permit at this moment) phone charged and credit on.Hard cash Food in All just in case. Used to be a girl guide. All just in case, lets hopeÌý demos go off ok .

Went through the bombing of Belgrade :-) know smthn about being ready...
Hope everything is gonna be just ok.
Anyway...confirmed by ANSA...those in Tripoli are pro-Libyan ones...so no fear.
Regards to all.

The word kerfuffle is originally from the Scots language, meaning disturbance, commotion, or fuss.
What happened/is happening across many cities in Libya is certainly not a commotion or a fuss it is a full blown revolt with many casualties

But then again you are free to: find sand, bury head
Stay safe folks

Sorry but afraid I didn't get this one.....my english, unfortunately, is not perfect...in particular when written by someone in slang, abbreviations, or whatever.
"bury hed in sand?"
could you please stop systematically quoting older posts ? the last post is almost impossible to read !
Hope70
Google is your friend - simply put 'bury head in sand' in the google box and click GO.

A small band of 20 or 30 marched up 7 November in the direction of Green Sq a couple of hours ago and I've seen Govt minibuses with green flags flying.
So far therefore it seems just Govt 'employees' are on the move.
Rory
pmsfl when I read this one:
"Col Gaddafi, who has been in power since 1969, has suggested he might join the protests himself" the BBC's Jon Leyne reports.
Benghazi looks real , the tipoli countersÌý just a handfull of employees chasing a cameraman in a pickup around basketball roundabout looking forward to tomorrow
Good luck mohammed, issam et all
It looked pretty nasty in Benghazi from what I've just been watching on Al Jazeera.
Batten down the hatches and tuck into your home brew.
Thank you very much for the link Mudman !

Flaw in design maybe?
Pro Government demo outside Al Wadan (sp) hotelÌý this morning.
Benghazi has always been anti-the man, so no great surprises there. Tripoli historically has always been the opposite. All the locals in my company have been told they have to go to the rally (let's call it that - cos' they're not protesting against anything that I can see at this minute in time). Personally I can't see there being any problems, or need to pack your cases, just sit back, chill out, and let the locals get on with it.
That's what I'm hoping...hate the idea to go away when not planned...too complicated and for too short time....prefere sitting back and waiting...Thanks Fifer!

vans and cars waving green flags have been passing down the corniche road. three smallish groups so far this am -- assuming these are also pros.

Twitter is down THANKS TO LTT but there Droid app is working fine and so is youtube.
All the rallies or demonstrations are PRO-Leader in Tripoli so far. The crowd is fairly larger then that of yesterday. Yesterday the rally in Zawiya, I was amused to spot a Mat manager of a Oil company dancing n chanting quite wildly.
On another note just learnt that un-employed people get a 500 LYD monthly from a government body. Where as after the #17 Feb thing heard that they are doubling the salaries for the government employees. Geez, somebody is changing.

Try to use 3rd party twitter application.
If you have BB still with home SIM, you can use twitter through WIFI (for no roaming charges).
All that I see is a lot of retweets of the same 2 or 3 tweets that has been around for the afternoon
and in other news....with rumors and fairly strong evidence that the mercenaries are from chad...the journalists (cough, cough) at libyaonline post this -- as if it were a bit of tittle tattle. i'm so disgusted.
Was a telephone conversation Tuesday, between the Leader of the Revolution, and President «Idriss Deby Wuthnow« President of the Republic of Chad, in the framework of constant coordination and consultation between them on promoting the march of the Community of Sahel and Sahara (Cen-Sad) and African issues of common interest.
If you got stopped by checkpoints in the streets of Tripoli, please stop and show your papers.
