Women's clothing wholesale

Post new topic

Elephantman

Hi. I am looking to find women's clothing wholesalers based in Bali. I have a shop in the UK and would prefer to buy ready stocks. I know that a lot of the shops in Seminyak and Kuta advertise as being wholesalers but I am really looking to find out where they are buying from.
I am in Bali over the next week and have just happened upon this forum by chance. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Many thanks,Elephant man

Hello,
I'm reading your message with much interest. Actually i would like to hear about your shopping experience in Bali. Could you meet with trusted wholesale vendors who sell quality clothes. Like you mentioned, some places like Kuta and Ubud have nice shops with great designs but prices are hefty and they do mostly retail. I'm interested too, we have a shop in Mauritius.  Many thanks in advance.

No idea about places on the island of Bali but Tanah Abang market in Jakarta has literally hundreds of wholesalers. I also know of places in Jogja.
Local (small) shops pretty much all buy from places like that.
Export isn't a small local shop so you probably need to find the factories.

I used to have a garment export company/buying office in Hong Kong in the early 90's and designed women's RTW. We supplied several clients in the Sentier in Paris and also one of our biggest indirect customer was C&A in Germany. But we also did barter trade with Russia and sold to clients in France, Belgium, UK, Australia etc. Additionally we also bought lots of stock lots or cancelled orders by the container load.

I have manufactured garments in Bali in the late 90's and early 2000's but with serious garment manufacturers and in smaller quantities. That is the only real way of getting low prices. However, if you want to buy wholesale then I'd be careful of getting 'real' wholesale prices which I would be surprised. If you find the good manufacturers then you can order small quantities and get real export prices. What I did in the late 90's was go around buying samples from boutiques and giving them to the factories to manufacture.

Most garment manufacturing is done in Java but these are mostly serious factories that won't do small quantities. However, you'll find lots of places in Jakarta to buy inexpensive clothes as mentioned above, and I know some people who buy there and resell in other countries. There are also factory outlets here in Bandung and one is huge and sell everything at 50% discount. That means T-shirts at around Rp40k.

Anyway, good luck in Bali. Hope you find some serious wholesalers. I guess look in Denpasar rather than Kuta or Ubud.

They start a lot cheaper on shopee

I have no idea about the quality

The thread is years old, but the info might well be useful to somebody
