Naturalisation and citizenship in Sweden

Post new topic

Bhavna

Hello everyone,

What are the requirements for acquiring citizenship in Sweden? For example, length of residence, language requirements, employment etc..

What formalities are involved in the process?

What is the policy on dual-citizenship in Sweden? Do you have to give up your former nationality?

What are the advantages and benefits of acquiring Swedish citizenship, in your opinion?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Hi Bhavna
As I read and informed by some of my colleagues it is required to work and pay taxes for 5 years to be eligible for nationality.

You can keep dual nationality and as of now no requirement of Swedish language.

Hope this will help.
Have a good night.
