Travelling towards airport...Courtesy Grenademan (forum member)
it's actually quite safe but I've heard from friends who've been there that they (Airport Security) will stop your car 1.5km from the parking lot area at the airport that means you'll have to walk your a** with luggage. Other than that they might ask wat checkpoints about where you're going and why you're going there but all in all it's very safe in Tripoli.

EMBASSY CONFUSION/CONFLICTS
I PASTE MATERIAL INCASE ONE CANNOT OPERATE WEBSITES THERE!
Even as the Indian government goes ahead with firming up logistical details of evacuating Indians from Libya, there were reports of 'unscrupulous elements' trying to fleece Indians stranded in the country.
Against this backdrop, the external affairs ministry Friday clarified that it was not charging Indian nationals who are being evacuated and stressed that cases of cheating should immediately be brought to its notice.
'It has come to notice that some unscrupulous elements are asking for payments/handling charges/facilitation fee etc., for arranging evacuation of Indian nationals, through the embassy of India in Libya,' the ministry clarified.
'These activities are completely illegal and individuals engaged in them should be immediately reported to the law enforcement authorities,' the ministry said.
'It is further emphasized that no payment or charge of any kind is being levied by the government, for the evacuation/assisted departure of any Indian national in Libya,' the ministry

INFORMATION ON FLIGHTS OPERATING FROM TRIPOLI?LIBYA
Airlines operating services to Libya are applying a 'wait-and-see' policy as they await further information about the ongoing civil unrest in the country,
The Egyptair spokesman was unable to confirm reports that aircraft are unable to land at Benghazi due to its runways having been destroyed in the violence that is gripping the country.
Emirates has cancelled its Tripoli flights, saying in a statement that "passengers will not be accepted for flights into Tripoli from any airport until further notice. Emirates will continue to monitor the situation in Tripoli".
In a notice on its website, Dutch carrier KLM says that "due to the current situation in Libya" its flight schedule to and from Tripoli "may be affected".
Neither Libyan Airlines nor Afriqiyah Airways could immediately be reached for comment.

I know not of others,
But India always has had a laid back attitude and hence It makes me ashamed of my country many a times...
I dont give a shit about the economy of our country, its position in the world, I find it way behind in many factors!!!!
.
The complete set of our attitude towards most of the factors in life SUckZz
Hello Goldilocks,
Your last post is very negative mixed with anger? May I know why such anger?!
Hiya Yud
.
Anger due to the laid back operations, steps taken by our country on such issues...
Such a huge country, and prompt response/action/delegation of responsibility of such order?
.
Excuses we will find plenty, reasons too in multitude, but being a citizen of this country, I think I take liberty to expresss, it has been upsetting...
.
Many other factors are associated with this, Lol I just poured forth...phew!!
Ships set sail to reach in another 11 days...ouch gimme a break!!! Were they snoring when they saw the disturbances?
