=s I am melting in my sleep. So dry that i put a bowl of water in the room at night and it dried completely after only 6 hours. I am thinking of getting an AC, saw the cheapest is finlux for 480 including installation. Anyone know of any cheaper AC?

What about other options? Read about portable ACs, but comments seemed to be that they dont help. I am waking up at night every hour or two because of the heat and thirst, it's insane, driving me crazy and giving me headaches.

I'd definitely recommend renting a place with AC if you are still looking. =/

The very cheap ones will keep you awake with the noise they make.
Samsung are good it they're available to you.

Check out this range, we have a 24,000 BTU one in the lounge and it is very good. The 9,000 or 12,000 would do in a bedroom, unless it was very large. Prices start from about €450 and go up to €1080 for the largest and that includes installation. They are rated A++ and very economical, they have a sleep mode that turns off the illuminated display and quietens the fan.

We also have 3 Midea Mission units in bedrooms and they are also very good and efficient. Not sure on prices though.

All the above act as coolers, heaters, dehumidifiers or fan only.
