moving to Sohar Oman from Bangalore India.Is this safe for family ?

Dear All
I am moving to Sohar Oman from Bangalore India...I am holding work visa and am a SAP Consultant .

Kindly please give some info as below;
1.Is this safe for family and child education?
2.what is procedure to get family to oman on visitor visa and family joining visa?
3.is there any area where indians livings on sohar oman.
4.How much expenses for family per month.

It would be great if you provide some info.

Dear Vijay,

Sohar is one of the growing cities in Oman with a flourishing port, new airport, and city developing fast. Industrial area is also in expansion stages. There is Indian School, Social Club and every other facilities like cinema, hospitals all as per standards.
Rents are comparatively lower than muscat and you can get comfortable living spaces in and around sohar city or near indian school...

You will find the city is rather spread out, and without a driving license little difficult to manage initially, and bringing your family is possible after you come here, after you stamp your visa, company will arrange visa for them on your visa. Should finish in one or two days or a week.
