Hello dear expats in Hangzhou,
I have been offered a scholarship by ZHEJIANG University for PhD.
I am married and have 3 children. Would it be wise to relocate to Hangzhou with family in a monthly stipend of approximately 5000 yuan. Are the people of Hangzhou familiar with English conversation? And any information about English Medium schools for children with theirmonthly fees.?
Lastly about food. Any Muslim restaurants or canteens in the area.?

If you move to China you MUST assimilate.聽 But you are Muslim.聽 It will be difficult for you. Chinese do not believe in GOD.

I would suggest that you embrace the cultures and traditions of Chinese Muslims, and not try to go beyond that. Otherwise you might encounter some discomfort. The moment you try to force your beliefs on others, or try to do "your own thing" within the crowded Chinese arena, you will invite SCORN.

If you are not ready to assimilate, do not bother moving to China.
