are narcotic pain killers available in Vietnam

Post new topic

ltcjackwatson

i recently retired from the US Army and take percocet 2 times a day and flexiril 2 times a day since i broke my back in Iraq..... another story!!!   i have heard you cannot obtain either of these drugs in Vietnam, and the pharmacies i have checked with in Vietnam say they don't havd them.  i even went to an International Clinic and they didn't have them either.  so my question is where can i find a place or a doctor  to get more in Vietnam.  or are they just unattainable here..   thanks in advance.. and where can u get some!

Jack,

Thanks for your service. You can try Victoria Med Centers. They have Tramadol.

You might try looking for Flexiril under its generic name of cyclobenzaprine.  I doubt that you will find Percocet as it is the brand name for ocycodone/paracetomol.  I had both after my knee replacement in Hawaii, but I actually had to request cyclobenzaprine from my doctor as my clinic (Kaiser Permanente) prefers another muscle relaxer without the narcotic effect.  I hated the oxycodone and stopped taking it as soon as I could but I found cyclobenzaprine to be very effective.

Dear ltcjackwatson,

For your problem, I may suggest that :
* You can come to FV hospital, register with Pain control department and visit with Pain doctor. Then he/she will give you the prescription with Narcotic depend on your situation. You can buy medication at FV hospital.

* Or you can come to private Pain clinic - Dr THAI THI HOA - in dist 7. She is working in FV hospital ( Anesthesiologist + Pain control doctor). She can speak English + French. She was trained in French before. A good doctor for your case.
Her clinic address and:
80 Cao Triều Phát , Tân Phong , Quận 7, Hồ Chí Minh

Does anyone know of a pain management specialist in Hanoi? What are the costs of medical insurance ?

Tramadol is all you can obtain.  Like most other countries, opiates are very strictly limited.  Chinese carfentanyl is available on street, but very dangerous.

Let try ULTRACET (Tramadol Hydrochloride and Acetaminophen Tablets) to release your pain during finding for Pain doctor. You can buy in Pharmacy without prescription.
Tramadol is one of Narcotic and you can not buy without prescription.
