RNE Cancelation

Post new topic

Rizwan Zulfiqar

Hi,Please let me know on which basis Permanent Residency (RNE) of a foreigner can be cancelled???
i am sure you will reply with a lot of attention,
Advance thanks...

Until now the cancellation of the RNE has been very rare, the only case I can think of is where the spouse went to Policia Federal and complained that her husband had done a sham marriage just to stay in Brazil.

Even then the Policia Federal had given her the run around and if I remember correctly she had to make a sworn statement that she submitted to the Policia Federal and to the courts.

However starting from 21 November there are new laws which are being introduced in Brazil pertaining to Foreigners and as of now I am not sure as to what effect they will have in various situations

It will EXPIRE if you leave Brasil for more than 2 years
You can reapply for as many as you need, should take 2 months
OR you can get a 10 year tourist visa if you're not living there more than 6 months a year

Texanbrazil

Do not have knowledge as to new laws. Every time I travel back to US PF says I have 180 consecutive days before I need to renew

Your post does not make sense.
IF you have an RNE IT DOES NOT EXPIRE and you do not need to renew it .
ONLY situation is if you are OUTSIDE OF BR for more than 2 years, it expires.
YOU DO need to leave BR for 180 days before entering again, you can ONLY be IN BR for 6 months per year.

Texanbrazil

I agree and it was only at the gate security.
I never have stayed more than 2 months in US.
As said I do not know the laws just what RF agent stated twice from SP
Mine is Permeant and no expiration

GoingCrazyGoing

AH ok.
You say RF, you mean PF (Federal Police) ?  OR are you talking about immigration ?
Having an RNE should permit you to come and go as you are,  as long as you are not outside BR more than 2 years.  I'd ask them next time what they mean ?
You might go to your local PF office and explain it to them,  maybe they can straighten it out.  I've always had the best relationship with PF and they are usually very helpful.

Texanbrazil

No RF is Receita Federal they normally check bags and declarations. Now you have to complete declarations online leaving and entering Brazil unless you nothing to declare. Have to download app.
I just took it with a smile since I have relatives working with PF.
