Raising kids in Russia

Post new topic

Priscilla

Hello everyone,

How is raising kids in Russia different from raising kids in your home country?

What are the activities that your kids seem to enjoy the most in Russia?

Do you feel that the country is "family-friendly"?

Do you recommend Russia as a good place to raise kids? Why or why not?

Thank you for sharing your experience.

I'm from South Africa (Cape Town) but now living in Russia (Saint Petersburg). Moving to Sochi on 20 Dec 2017 though.

It's much, much better to raise your kids in Russia because:

- child birth is free
- pregnant mothers have to go for mandatory medical tests (free)
- babies are to go for mandatory medical tests (free)
- mothers with babies get priority in any queue (anywhere)
- people are more willing to help if they see you have a small child

this question is probably more suitable for younger person. we have two daughters and they are both already finished medical schools and have their lifes in other continents.

so...

however, in my limited observation, in  Chelyabinsk, there is no international school is there?
