Visa stamping after getting residency permit

Post new topic

Hi,

I am an Indian national and have a job offer with an employer in Norway. My employer had applied for residence permit on my behalf (via POA) . I got an email from UDI that my permit has been approved.

So what happens next? I believe I have to get my passport stamped with a visa. How do I go about doing that. Do I visit a Norwegian consulate here and deposit my passport along with the DUF number? I would imagine that I have to have a visa stamp on my passport irrespective of whether I have the residency permit of not?

Appreciate your help!

There is no more stamping of visa on passport.  You will get a residence card.  Did you apply your application online?  If you are in Oslo, you need to log into the online application system and book an appointment to "take picture" and provide biometric for the residence card.  Then the card will be mailed to you.

I am not in Norway. I am in India. If I have to enter Norway I would need a entry visa right?

Since your company helps you to submit the documents, you need to ask them to ask UDI.
