800 OR monthly enough to have a comfortable lifestyle in Sohar for 2?

My husband has received a job opportunity in Sohar, they've offered 800 OR per month. Currently we both are working in India and drawing 1lac salary together. Will it be a good idea if he takes up the offer and brings me along on family visa? Will I be allowed to work? Are there enough opportunities for females in Sohar? Will above salary be enough to have a comfortable life?

Dear Shruti ,

Even without knowning the nature of job , just from financial perspective , a family which earns 1+1 = 2 Lacs In India , would be well advised to stay put in india .

It鈥檚 a no brainer .

In fact , even if it was just one salary of 1 lac , it would still be superior to a 800 OMR in Oman .

If you objective is other than financial ...to experience and spend some time in another country / culture , then it would be another story !

Hope you make a decision to suit your need .
