The places in Tulum that are a must are LaZebra and Mezzanine. These two stand out as two of the best in the Riviera. Besides the great food the view is world class.

If coming to live in Merida aged 50-60 do you think it's quite easy to make friends?

Hi there, I would say depends 50% on you, and 50% on the circunstances. If you go out of your comfort zone, if you are a person how do not feel inhibited to talk to other people, then you will not have any problem. Yucatecan are rather respectfull, they do not boder you if you keep your distance. but if you aproach them they wellcome you with a smile.

Socializing is relatebly easy among the international community, there is a Men's Club that meet once a month for social events, and also the international women's association which is very active in social activities and community support.

In general you can keep yourself amused with plenty of entretaiment in the city, and you do not need to spend money to do so. there are plenty of activities organized by the local authorities the whole year round for free, like sports, yoga, dancing lessons, talks & seminars, artistic events, art displays, etc. you just need to keep yourself informed.

Greetings from Merida.
