I've received an interesting offer of work in Doha

Post new topic

marcello.minicucci

Hallo to everybody,
My name Marcello Minicucci, and I'm an italian doctor of 55y.o., ophthalmologist.
I've received an interesting offer of work in Doha, from a new Hospital that should open in the middle of May 2018.
My problem is that I do not find any information on the web about this new hospital of more of 350 beds, and it's very strange.
In italy and I think all over the world the opening of a new big hospital is a very big event, and you should find news about it everywhere....
There is anyone of you that can help me in finding the news I'm looking for?
And maybe if the Hospital is real the name of the Medical Director, and a telephone number?
The hospital and the person who contacted me are:
Mohammed Al Hameed
Chief Medical Director
Al Hameed Hospital
Ahmed Bin Ali Street,
West Bay Doha Qatar.

Thanks you a lot, I hope to meet you in Doha, anyway we'll see in Italy....
Marcello

Hi !

There is an Al Ahli Hospital  in the same area with a 250 bedded hospital & a great Ophthalmic  Wing .

Please reply to the recruiter and ask for further details .If they mention anything like Visa Processing Fee / Placement fee just drop them like a Hot Potato .

XTang

As already mentioned; if they didn't do a proper telephonic or F2F interview and sent across an offer and then follow it up with a request for payment for ANY reason; ignore it.  It is a scam and pretty common in this part of the world.

vcdoc

I got this too in a different specialty. Is this a scam?

XTang

Read what I said above carefully.

Shitos1984

I received a similar offer from the same hospital. Is it a spam?!

XTang

Read the thread.  Your question has already been answered.

Shitos1984

They said they want to make an interview in Doha in 2 weeks. And they said because of the new regulations of the immigration and international recreuitment in Qatar after World Cup bribe scandal, they can’t pay for the airline tickets, visa, or accommodation directly, but they will reimburse me once I arrive there!. Should I trust this or it’s a spam?!!

XTang

Can you please read the thread properly?  what they said is not true.

Remember the golden principle below in bold:

If an employer asks you to pay for ANY REASON, it is a scam!!!!

For all future posters to this thread; instead of asking same question again and again, please read the line highlighted in bold above.

Hy everybody, I also get that job offer from Al Hameed Hospital in Doha, few days ago. But it is really very strange that we can not find anything about that hospital on internet. I asked them for the explanations, they wrote that it is some old hospital Al Ahli on that addreess which will be officially rename in Al Ahmeed Hospital on 20 of June. Also, they wrote that I must pay by myself the round trip to meet them, hotel arrangment and for everything will take care some "travel consultant".  The reason why I must pay everything by myself is above mentioned scandal with FIFA, so they change some "laws" for strange workers. I really do not know what to think about everything?

XTang

Read above. Your questions have already been answered.

Shitos1984

That’s exactly what they told me!. I don’t see any information online, but I did see the hospital al Ahli. They said I have to pay for the trip, but they will reimburse immediately when I arrive. It seems legitimate to me for the reason he is explaining ( the Fifa scandal), but people here say it’s not!

XTang

I am amazed at the ability of people to see the silver lining in everything, no matter how dodgy.

Let me clear this as someone who is actually in this region for a while.

There is NO change in hiring practices due to Fifa.

However, these kind of scams where they ask you to pay for travel or visa costs for whatever reason; is on the rise.

As mentioned and repeated many times on this thread and others: IT IS A SCAM and there is no truth to the laws they are quoting.

It is unbelievable that no matter how many times its said, people don't want to believe and ask the same question again and again and again. There is no cure for gullibility.

Go ahead and do what you want. You have all the information you need. The choice is yours.

Ivana Miše

But, they didn't tell me they would give me the money back when I came there????!!! I also become very suspicious!

Ivana Miše

Ok, most probably it is a fake! But for which reason? How they can used us, how they can get our money, maybe if we continue to write them, they will ask for personal details, number of our credit cards, or what???

XTang

No they will recommend a travel consultant or agency that you will pay to make all the travel arrangements. This is one of their own people. Once you pay, you will never hear from them again.

Ivana Miše

Yes, they already recommended me a travel consultant who will take care of everything.

Seder1983

my dear its simply a spam  :)

stefanderouck

Hi everybody,
few days ago , I have received the same message from the same doctor. Very attractive salary, appartment, car and even a driver.
I can not decide the time for the trip, the hotel and the flight.
I understand now that it is a spam...

Many thanks to open my eyes.

IPPOCRATE

DEAR ALL,
I AM IN THE SAME SITUATION AND WHEN DR. AL REQUESTED MONEY FOR TRAVEL AND HOTEL ACCOMODATION I ANSWERED THAT I WILL ORGANIZE THE FLIGHT AND HOTEL BY MYSELF AS THEY DO ONT HAVE A BANK ACCOUNT BUT A POSTAL ACCOUNT IN LONDON, IMPOSSIBLE TO REACH. THEY NEVER WROTE ME BACK. THE PROBLEM IS THAT I SENT MY PASSPORT NUMBER. PROBABLY I WILL ASK TO POSTAL WEB PROTECTION  SERVICE IN ITALY TO KNOW IF THIS COULD BE A PROBLEM IN FUTURE OR NOT.
IT'S A BIK FAKE.
SOME SUGGESTION? THERE IS SOMEONE WHICH KNOWS IF THE PASSPORT NUMBER SENT TO THEM CAN BE A PROBLEM IN FUTURE?
THANKS A LOT

DEAR ALL,

Please don't post in caps lock

IPPOCRATE

ok sorry for mistake

And just a passport number in itself doesn't create any problems.

If you sent them a scan of the passport however which shows your name, date of birth and so on; it could lead to identity theft and other issues.

Hi Marcello
I had exactly the same experience with a job offer in Doha last week. Also a Chief Medical Officer that can‘t be found, a Ministery of Foreign Affais officer which can‘t be found either. And a request to pay the travel expenses in advance (bank tranfer to Germany).
I have replied that I only pay by credit card to be protected from fraud and got a very harsh response.
Haven’t replied since.
Best,

Hi to all.

Which email did they used, and how much they offers as a salary?

Very strange all.

Big salary,all facilities,a car, everything.

And I don't understand why should they make the booking for me,when I can do these things by myself.

The package is absolutely great and they can afford it because it will never happen

It's so they can scam you for the fees

Fred

I believe the word you're looking for is stupidity.

Even after a good number of warnings about this very obvious scam, a post or two down the thread will see some new fool ask again.

If they ask for cash - it's a scam

Fred

Hang on a moment - Are we talking about highly qualified doctors or toilet cleaners?

It amazes me people who are supposed to be well educated and are trusted with lives every day can be so bloody stupid.

Niece

@XTang how can we verify,if they give you the address of the real hospital?

And you applied to the page of hospital, but you have been mailed by another email of that hospital.

And after that they give you all the details and say something of accommodation and flight discounts that you should pay? It's about Al-Ahlihospital  is this a scamor not ?

Niece

@Fred obviously.

I was just asking that before receiving this email, I applied at their official page .

After that I took this email.

I am not going to deposit money for them, for sure.

If it is a scam,is the page hacked?

Just for information how could it be done,to find your data and mail you?

Fred

This is so easy.

Scammers set up a web page that looks like a real company's site, or simply make up a company and run with that.

They send out emails to a bunch of people (commonly people foolish enough to put contact details on facebook or forums). I suppose they assume anyone daft enough to put their email or numbers all over the internet are stupid, thus easier targets.

They hope idiots will reply

Some will check the site and email admin / HR, but the scammers run the site so they will confirm their scam is real

Total thickos send money as greed and stupidity are far more powerful (and common) than common sense and the ability to think.

These scams are most commonly aimed at lower skilled workers from poorer places they know are most likely to send money because they're dumb and/or desperate, but it seems idiocy rages like a wildfire in higher professions.

It's a bit obvious (at least to me), random people don't get offered top end jobs without so much as a chat in a coffee shop, definitely not from random emails, and absolutory not jobs they have to pay to get.

My last three jobs were the result of whatsapp messages, but none of those were random, and all were followed by chats over a coffee with  verifiable people, or an invitation to the potential place of work - None asked for any money. However, my skill set and personal position means I never have to look for work as people come to me.

Hardly common, but a few people are in that sort of position. Most are not so they have to apply for jobs in the normal way.

So, when it boils down to basics:

We have random emails offering jobs

They ask for cash (sooner or later), usually for immigration fees a (do people actually  believe that?), a deposit to show they have the means to keep themselves (Drrr, why else do you work?), or other fees that will be be returned (Ha, bloody ha).

They all ask for cash, and all use newly registered websites (icann lookup sorts that)

Sadly the idiots who run the EU created privacy laws that don't make a jot of difference to normal people, but make it a little harder to bust criminals - Thanks, EU parliament, you cretins)

It's easy to see how run of the mill fools could fall for these scams, but doctors??????

Remind me to be careful which quack I ask to sort out an ingrowing toenail. It appears at least a few would be far more suited to mopping floors and cleaning toilets  than holding a scalpel.

Fred

If you want to know more, just email me on fred.scambuster@paytobustscamspeoplewithmorethanthreebraincellsshouldworkoutintwoseconds.con

I charge USD 500 per obvious bust, but will return your money if the job is real.

Bitcoin and money transfers are accepted as there's no way I can give real bank account details as I'm a criminal running a scam.

If that sounds a bit sus, just send a moneygram or whatever to yourself, but give me a copy of your passport and all you personal details so I can cash it. I will then sell your details to a specialist identity theft criminal so he can really rip you off. I get a kickback for every dollar they rip an idiot off for.

Hopefully you'll be stupid enough to send me some cash.

XTang

To keep it very simple, if they ask for money for WHATEVER reason, it is a scam.

@XTang

Hi, i had also a very good offer for a job  as a cardiologist in the view hospital Doha qatar..by someone named Ridwan Mahmoud:

Dr Ridwan Mahmoud

CEO/Chief Medical Director

I am in contact with him, the mail is like the official mail of the view hospital, except one "s"at the end:

info@theviewhospitals.com

And the official of the website is:

[link under review]

My passport has expired so he wait me to have a new one.

Unfortunatelly, i send him a photo of my passport, with everything:dates, name, signature..etc

Do i have problem with that?

Thanks

Fred

Apart from them thinking you are a potential fool silly enough to send money, thus getting spammed to hell, watch out for identity theft

Fred

I am in contact with him, the mail is like the official mail of the view hospital, except one "s"at the end:
-@giannisgiatrakos

OMG

You're in touch with a scammer - obviously
