Hi,Im afraid that you will not be entitled to Greek citizenship.I am married to a Greek and have been try ing to gain this,Im British.My grounds are the length of time I have lived here with my husband,its easier if one has children together.Its a nightmare thing to try to do,many different government offices who all say different things.There are many Canadian people living here full time who have resident permits and Americans,so all is not lost for you.

On reading the information on line you can get the 90 days visa as Canada is part of the Schengen area.Two months before it expires you can apply for a further permit or go in and out of other Schengen countries.Or you can get the Golden Visa if you buy a property or business for 250.000 euro which is cheaper than Spain which is 500 I think,Portugal also does it.You become a citizen with it and close family members.But your nearest Greek embassy or consulate will advise you how things stand legally,Americans and Canadians do live here full time without heritage so perhaps if any expats see this who have done it they might enlighten us.
