Dating and finding love as an expat in Mauritius

Post new topic

Priscilla

Hello,

With cultural barriers and different dating norms, finding love as an expat abroad can be exciting and challenging at the same time.

Is it easy to meet other fellow single people in Mauritius?

How do you go about meeting people (through friends, online dating, apps, meetup groups)?

How safe is it to date in Mauritius?

How do you deal with cultural differences when dating?

What are certain dating etiquettes and rules when dating in Mauritius?

How do you deal with getting into a serious relationship if you know you might be leaving Mauritius?

Thank you for sharing your experience,

Priscilla

Hello Priscilla,

Season's best greetings.

Nice subject you open up.

Mauritius is multi-culture country. Mix of people for various origins like African, Indian, Chinese and European. Mauritius also great destination for tourism. Tourist from all over world visit here and they all love Mauritius. This makes Mauritius without any cultural barriers.

Expats can find their love or close friend. Need to understand the way of communicating with Mauritian. Language may be barrier sometime.

It's easy to meet other fellow single people in Mauritius. Mostly you find them in gathering points like clubs or beaches etc.

Dating apps - no idea about how effective. Since direct contacts are easy available.

Mauritius is reasonably safe. However one must know how to handle dating partner.

If anyone love getting along with people then cultural differences is not a barrier.

As such no fix etiquettes or rule but both partners must understand likes and dislikes. Also when and how much time to spend is also important.

Mauritius has approved living-in relationship. This makes easy to get into serious relationship.

Hope information you find good enough.
