If i stay away from Canada to long do I lose my Canadian status?

Hello all... Trever here... new to this kind of stuff... I'm currently a single Male who is very interested in retiring to thailand but possibly Vietnam, or Cambodia or Indonesia or the Philippines... giggle... although retirement won't happen for at least another ten years... I'm just courious in the whole idea... like if i stay away from Canada to long do I lose my Canadian status? Then would i get stop recieving my Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security?
Yes again i know that retirement is still way off for me at this time.

What would mostly likely be affected is your tax status. If you're Canadian born you can't lose your Canadian citizenship, I'm not sure about someone who has becomea citizen, but was born elsewhere, but being Canadian by birth and out of the country for an extended period you might be considered non-resident. The CRA has tons of info on their website. Your will lose your health coverage and need to be back in Canada for 3 months before being eligible again. If you are a permanent resident of Canada, there may be more complications.
