Question on one of the requirements of MVV

So one of the requirements of the MVV visa is that your partner either has to be dutch or must possess a dutch residence permit.

My bf is Polish and works in Amsterdam. His contract with his company is indefinite.

I'd just like to know if we satisfy that requirement above.

I am from and I currently live in the Philippines. we haven't lived/ cohabitated together.

Hi again,

What you describe is one of the elements of the family visas; if you've never lived together you will struggle to prove the "long-term and exclusive relationship" element they require, so consequently be denied a family type visa.

You may find it easier to apply for MVV in your own right and apply for a work visa; this will take you to the relevant part of the Dutch Government (IND) website that has the details of all the possible visas.

One important thing that all the MVV visas require is your ability to pass a Dutch language exam, so I strongly suggest you start learning now.

Hope this helps.

as for proving the relationship, we can show plane tickets, conversations and picture so i hope that helps :)

Hi again,

You can contact the IND and ask; if your boyfriend is currently living in Holland, he can make an appointment at his local office and ask there.

I wish you both the best of luck in your journey together.
