Hi,ime moving to the Philippines with my partner we are going to buy a place in Iponan,does anyone know this area,for example is it a safe place to live,thanks frank.

Seems Iponan is a suburb of Cagayan de Oro on Mindanao which I have heard is safe for foreigners as long as you keep a low profile.聽

It might be helpful to look for people from CDO to give you their opinion on CDO in general.

Cagayan De Oro is quite safe for foreigners, though many foreigners do live in areas like Iponan most tend to settle uptown in guarded subdivisions such as Golden Glow Village, Golden Glow North or Gran Europa etc. It depends if your just visiting for a while or settling here because the reason most settle uptown is because there is never any flooding in this area.
