Post new topic

Hi,I am verg frim philippines but currently living here in kuwait.i have a question regarding in applying for france visa.i applied last year for tourist visa for 15days and got denied.I am planning again to apply on last week of Dec this year and I'm thinking if what type of visa should  I get if it is visit visa or tourist visa .I'm thinking for visit visa since my French bf wants to invite me to france and stay in his house, but someone told me that if i applied for visit visa there's a high chance of getting denied again.i'm afraid that my visa will get denied for the second time around, that's why I'm asking advise of what i need to do and what is the best way if i take tourist or visit visa.i have only a minimum wage. And I'm thinking if they base on employment status eventhough I have savings above on theit requirements of how much money needed per day in france.

Pilipina ka? Dito ako sa france. Ganito gawin nyo.

Yes po I'm filipina.living in kuwait.
Salamat po sa reply.
Pareho lang ba ang attestation d'accueil yun?
At ano po type ng visa na iapply ko if tourism visa or visit visa.kasi magkaiba yata dun sa may type of visa na nilagay sa website ng france visa.

Hello,
Tourist visa is difficult to get if you don't have enough financial source.
I suggest to apply for a visit visa, your boyfriend will have to go to his Mairie (where he lives) and request for an invitation letter  "Attestation d'accueil", signed, and he will have to send it by post to you.  Also provide a sponsor letter mentioning that he would cover your whole stay..and provide his bank statement (if needed his salary slips plus yours). The more documents you provide, the better.
Don't forget travel insurance, covering the Schengen area.
Don't hesitate to ask more.

Good luck.
Vic

Hi,
I was informed to write to you in english bec this is an english forum.
So attestation d'accueil is correct. Is your boyfriend living in france? If he is living in france ask him to go to the "mairie" (townhall/mayor's office) to get the form of attestation d'accueil" and he should fill it up and have it validated and stamped at the mayor's office. And then your boyfriend must send it to you. You should submit that to the french embassy in the philippines if you hold a philippine passport. Visa in france is simply called "sejours" that means the length of stay. You should know how  long you want to stay there, if it is only a visit.  But if it is for marriage, the visa will be "pour mariage"or "alliance"
Good luck!

Hi Vic,
Thanks for your reply.

Hi Emil,
Thanks for your reply.
How about if I'm living here in kuwait so I need to send the attestation d'accuel in philippine embassy here?
Thanks

Emifrance123

You can inquire at the french embassy in kuwait. But I guess that they will tell you to apply for french visa in the phils.

Hi emi,
Good day!
Thanks for ur reply.
Eventhough my purpose to travel is do tourism with my bf for 2 weeks only.maybe I need to apply tourist visa not visit visa as it is more complicated?

Emifrance123

Then you should be able to prove that you have enough money to stay in france as tourist

Don't ever do a friend visit visa if you're not in a relationship before at least 1-2 years!
The Embassy would not trust you!

Any immigration Office from a Schengen country (France here) would just denied it, thinking you'd do an illegal immigration! And make sure your boyfriend went 2-3 times to see you in Kuwait FIRST, before even trying to think about a friend visit visa C!!!!!!!!!!!!! ==> Proof you know each other, at least a bit!

Family/friend visa is probably the most difficult Visa C to get!!! Because you know someone in EU and there's a "high" chance you won't go back home because you're not coming from a rich country (unless you're rich... ==> show money)

if you do a friend visit visa, you'll have to proof you know each other, through immigration stamp to see each other / already travel together OUTSIDE your country / visa / pictures together / history of relationship + explain your future together and what you're planning to do next ==> living together/wedding in few years but NOT NOW/...
But they'll always wonder if you're not going to do an illegal immigration in Europe...
Forget it before at least 1-2 years of relationship ==> not credible!

Anyway, in both case, even if your boyfriend sponsor you, you'll have to proof you've have money/ownership/stable job/bank history & else to proof you've a reason to go back to "your country" no matter what.
You must proof you've no reason to stay in France because you have everything in Kuwait!
House/car/boat/family ties/whatever!

Did you ever use your passport to go outside Kuwait/Philippines?
You might also consider trying to travel together first to any other OECD country than Europe (any "rich" country where you need a visa, not just a stamp from a visa-free country (like Singapore or Malaysia))
==> South Korea, Mexico, ... (have a backup plan if the visa is denial)
Why?
Because if you get a visa from any "rich" country, you'll proof you can be trusted.
"You've been to a rich country and went back to your home without any illegal immigration." blablabla
And once you've received an OECD visa, you can go nearly everywhere in the world easily, even with your Philippines passport.
That would be a HUGE asset to your case!

Whatever which visa you're gonna do, remember to show as much money on YOUR side / valuable as possible!

In France, you need to have AT LEAST: 120€ per day if you stay in hotel, and 65€ per day if you're invited to your boyfriend's home.
So, better do a really short stays to get your first ever visa from Europe, then they won't bother you anymore if you did proof you can be trusted (and go back to your country).
Your target is not to spend a lot of time with your boyfriend (sorry), your target is to proof you can be trusted to get your first visa!

On the other side, a future denial of a "friend" visit visa "isn't too bad", it might also be seen an asset the day you try to live together in France.
==> they would know your story and the fact you wanted to be with him, it wouldn't be the first time you're telling the embassy you've a french boyfriend and so, "there's a story behind the future visa request"
My 2 cents from a Belgian guy in couple with Vietnamese girl with experience on the matter :D

Hi Alex,
Thanks for your reply.
Yes,me and my bf been for almost 4years.he worked here in kuwait before and we first travel in Thailand only. He's family also wants to see me and we already talk about marriage in the future,we decide that i will go to france to visit him and his family for only 2 weeks.whats's possible visa do i need to take?I've already apply before for a tourist visa but got refused.

Emifrance123

Hi,
Go to a travel agency specialist in french travels. You may check in the internet. My brother and his wife do that. So they can come whenever they want to france

AlexFromBelgium

To get a friend visit visa, you must proof you can be trusted. (typically any previous OECD visa/living in an OECD country)
If there's even just a small doubt about you ===> denial.
Friend visit visa is the worst.......... Better even do a classical tourist visa than a friend visit one, less suspicions...

EU had a huge illegal immigration crisis 3 years ago, and it's still on going at some point.
==> They're now way more strict than before. And you now have a historic as you've already been denial...

You seems to have nearly never used your passport, so it's even harder for the visa officer to consider that you always go back home (unless you've a real good job that get you a high salary similar to what you'd get in EU).

Like I just told you in private message, go to South Korea for 4-7 days, then say hello to your family in the Philippines with your boyfriend (the travel would seems legit, you've always wanted to visit SK, now you're going to do it with your boyfriend and then you're going to say hello to your family OUTSIDE SK).
Do pictures all together (additional proof for next visa request) and enjoy spicy vacations :)
Next time, you'll easily get your Schengen Visa with a previous/precious South Korean visa in your passport.

Travel agency is an option (tourist visa then), but do you want to stay 6/7 hours a day in a bus?
And you can't leave the trip to join your boyfriend or the trip agency would call the police as you're missing, and so, the immigration... and travel agency are more expensive than if you'd book your trip yourself.

Tourist visa . Your BF must send you attestation de accueil and if he is the one sponsoring your trip then better he will provide also his bank statement, tax payment , business permit if he has a business or  certificate of employment if he is working , a copy of his National I.d and his Passport , an invitation letter.

If you are the one providing your trip ; you must provide what I've mentioned above except the nation I.d and a cover letter( must be short and sincere ) .
