I'm about to move to Riyadh and I've seen conflicting reports about the use of Facebook Messenger, can somebody please give me a straight answer, can I use voice and video calls using Facebook Messenger to keep in touch with loved ones back in Australia?

Yes dear there is no issue to use any type of messenger , or chat form or video calls as long as its between you and your love one and both of you happy, unless you don't harassing someone. enjoy dear.
