Gal Pals in KSA ? Near Madinah (or Jeddah)

Post new topic

Hey all!

Going to be moving to Madinah in a few months. Hoping to connect with other ex-pats living in Madinah. I am born and raised in the USA but always kept my friend group pretty international.  I dont have kids but I am married.  Female. Convert (but cool with non-musims). Im an engineer, creative (painting, music, writing, photography, small circuit projects, random crafts) , gym rat and outdoors junky. I love exploring new places and trying new foods best!!!! Hoping to find others that would also be interested.

I also have sooooo many questions about moving there. This website and several others have been helpful but they tend to focus on Jeddah/ Riyad when it comes to any specifics.

Lets connect!!

Thanks! : )

Hello, welcome to the forum, and good luck in finding female friends.

TeacherAdam

There is a relatively large female ex-pat community in Madinah. Most are the wives of teachers working at Taiba and the Islamic University, as well as teachers in the ladies sections at those institutions.

There are several social groups, but for obvious reasons, I cannot link the contact information here. I am sure you will run into some of the ladies at cafes, restaurants, or the few malls that are in Madina. It seems that you are an extrovert (since you are actively looking for friends) so I am sure you have already met some new friends by now.

Thanks @teacheradam.  I am going to PM you for the info.  Hopng that you get the PM.

Im not in Madinah yet but hope to be there soon!!  (#covid)

My extroversion is 100% forced!  Im actually extremely shy but I fake confidence extremely well.  LOL

Most my friendships are from work, hobby/sports, and/or school.  It could be that I am not aware of which apps or webpages to be looking at but I am not seeing too much in the way of activity groups or events to be able to find activity buddies.  I have no probably creating my own fun...but I am being told that as a woman its frowned down upon to be traveling around too much on her own....plus every adventure is better with a partner-in-crime.

If anyone has any tips that might help me (or others following the post) with this aspect of moving abroad to KSA, please let me know !

Thanks again!
