Customs Question on Electronic Goods

Post new topic

Ftoloui

Hello all,

I am moving to Fethiye in December and never really considered having to pay to bring some of my electronics. I only intend on bringing a 28-30 inch computer monitor (not a tv, but i dont know if they will know/care to distinguish the difference), my Macbook, and a Playstation 5. I don't know how they calculate the amount i will have to pay ( i checked online but it is not very clear). Will i have to pay? if so, any idea how much it will cost?

The entire thing sounds a bit ridiculous to me, but what can I do?

Thanks

i m not expert but i dont think that you have to pay any duty.
only tv and radio are subject to banderol as they are receivers to broadcast.
all others are personal belongings.
of course, if you have monitors or playstations more than one, it will take attention of officers as it looks like commercial purpose..

You may get information from the ministry's official site and also I am agree with Borarro

I shipped my clothes from UAE to Turkey and they charged me 150TL for clothes declared to be worth 800TL. They were all used clothes and obviously all personal items. Whatever being shipped expect it to be subject to some taxes fees etc.

But when you are taking these items in your luggage, it depends on the customs officers. Normally they just check if you have too many of the same items or too much of duty free stuff.

That was some years ago. Now they are agresively looking for ways to charge anything shipped abroad. I just paid 150 for my own used clothes shipped by mail.

Thank you Mohammet.
I'm sorry to bother you, but if we want to send our home appliances via cargo t turkey is there any tax or customs?

For sure they will charge something. Best case scenario you will pay to post officer. Worst case scenario go to customs to find your package if you can. And pay.
