I am French and leave at Paris and i would like to migrate to Mauritius in July 2021.

I'm engineer PHP for 10 years (Magento expert, e-commerce expert), Nodejs (ReactJs, NextJs, Express...) and Python (Django, Flask, Panda...) for 2 years.

I will pass the certification Associate Cloud Engineer on Google Cloud Platform.

I speak French and English and look for a job in Mauritius.

I am looking for opportunity in Mauritius in web or mobile development and willing to migrate.
Also i'm married with 2 children.

Hello again Cédric,

Thank you very much for this detailed post. It will help us in providing you the proper information.

First of all, may I ask if you have ever been to Mauritius ?

Despite this whole Covid-19 situation, your qualifications are in demand and are valued in Mauritius (and elsewhere). You seem to meet the requirements of a senior PHP dev or atleast you can apply for a similar position.

You should browse through the offers listed on jobs boards, create your profile (so that employers can view your job profile and contact you). Use LinkedIn to build professional relationships with other developers and employers. Mauritius is a small country, everybody knows everybody, by word of mouth it could lead to an opportunity.

Don't hesitate to reach out for companies by submitting a spontaneous application. Here are 2 leads :

As a last resort, you could contact recruitment agencies in Mauritius.

You should be mindful, however, that to be eligible for an occupation permit in the ICT sector, the minimum salary requirement is Rs30,000.

For a senior post, this salary is very low, you should aim for higher. That said, please go through the different threads under the cost of living category to have an idea about how much you will need to live in Mauritius (cost of living has been going up).

( Rent, school for your kids, transport, food, health insurance etc...)

If you have any other question, feel free to pen them down and  if you wish to interact with francophones, here is the link to the francophone Mauritius forum :

All the very best,

Good, atleast you have a first experience of the country. Well, things have changed a lot, but when the time allows you, consider visiting Mauritius (right now with the Covid and quarantine, it is not advisable). You will get the chance to see for yourself whether you like it and also get involved in some professional networking (it will be better if you and your wife find a job = 2 salaries).

As for now, give it a try by sending your applications, there's no harm in trying and who knows, you might get a really good offer.

Try here as well :
