Buy meat of goat or sheep - PP

Post new topic

It’s awesome Lucky grocery has recently started to sell Halal meat, chicken and beef, but I am looking for gamey meat taste.

Anyone knows where I can buy goat meat or sheep meat in Phnom Penh?

I’d an interesting experience with my personal tuktuk driver yesterday. He offered to take me to a store close to the airport that sells goat meat. First, he sent me picture of the storefront showing them barbecuing whole sheep, and drawn on the wall was goat, etc. So I called the store myself to inquire but no one spoke English. Unfortunately, I went and we couldn’t find the store after searching for a while even though he called them several times. Then he took me to another store that I dared not, garbage everywhere.

Find the Muslim area of Phnom Penh for your goat  meat. Or visit Danmeats.

Address
Phnom Penh, No. #62, Street. 432 Conner 175, Sangkat Toul Tum Poung II, Khan Chamkar Morn, 12207, Cambodia

He sells a wide selection of sausages, meats and smoked ham ect. He imports his lamb from Australia + being a foreigner his shop is very clean + his manager speaks very good English.  The guy was a butcher by trade in his own country.  Just Google Danmeats for more info.

Cheers.

I tried Danmeat and didn’t like their meat.  i bought meat packaged 1 year ago not tasted. I’m looking for fresh local meat.

You can get New Zealand/Australian lamb and goat meat at the supermarket across the street from super duper. The stores are less than 15 minutes walk from Russian market. Both stores also have very large selection of spices at very reasonable prices.

Assuming you're looking for halal......

I don't know the city at all, so I would start with a google maps search for 'mosque'. As such places are full of Muslims, there will be someone able to help you.
The language barrier can be a problem, but google translate will ease that issue. The software isn't perfect, but keep your words simple and it will probably get you what you need.
