OB, the information I have says that it is not possible to move vehicles or even household items out of Libya for now.

I will send you a PM to get the details, but what I was interested in finding out was if anyone out there has been able to successfully move their belongings out of Libya so far and if so, who did it for them.

From the response received so far, I think it is safe to assume that to date no one has been able to do just that.

People, please correct me if I am wrong.

We have been successful on moving belongings out during "luls" in fighting, vehicles are harder, as we have to transfer paperwork into a locals name to transport across border.
At the moment houses are being packed and loaded into containers ready for the next trip to the border. Or you can have stuff packed and stored until you return (if thats the plan)

It's real heartening to see some guys sticking around still.We eventually gave up and on 25th of May 2011 moved accross in a convoy led by INDIAN EMBASSY VEHICLE with HOC[INDIAN EMB LIBYA is still functioning from TUNIS with a team located at Zjerba] as an escort.
We could barely get our basic stuff and cannot but thank the INDIAN EMBASSY (LIBYA) operating from a Hotel room in TUNIS to not only ensure a safe passage but also arrange for transport from TUNISIA BORDER to TUNIS,comfortable Hotel say at TUNIS and subsequent transit back to INDIA.KUDOS to MEA!!
