How can you find the best shopping and flea markets in Salento region?

My husband and I are retired in the U.S. and recently purchased a townhouse in Ugento and will be spending half the year there annually starting in September this year (2021) It is a small town of about 12,000 in the region of Salento. We would love to hear from anyone who speaks English who may be in the area somewhere. We will need to purchase home furnishings and general stuff. Interested if there are flea markets around where you can buy furniture and home furnishings like in France. Is there a tourist or visitors center near that can assist us? For instance, we will want to purchase electric bicycles and don't know how to go about this.
This forum so far doesn't seem to be very helpful on specifics of living in Italy. I want actual ideas and suggestions on how to get around day to day. If anyone uses a holiday home there regularly, and speaks English, I'd love to hear from you!

I strongly suggest you both do a crash course in Italian. Then when you come here you can practise and improve.  The friendly locals will help you, and love that you're learning their language. You really can't get by without it. Good luck!

Try googling antiquariato mercatini Salento.  For example this:
Obviously for the last year there have been no markets due to Covid restrictions.
You will have to learn some Italian, so start now.
For electric bikes - google bici elettrici Salento.  Obviously you will have to to go to Lecce for alot of things.

Thank you!! This is the first piece of real information on daily living in Salento that I've received! Very helpful. Wish there was more concrete info out there on daily life and getting around. Yes, we know we will need a bit of Italian, but this takes time, especially because we are older and learning language is harder. Thanks again? Appreciate any helpful suggestions in the next few months before we arrive!
