Register residency, social security and health

Post new topic

caligiu

Hi I am italian and I moved to lisbon.
I currently have Nif and just rented a flat. I will start to work as self employee on May 3rd.
I need to register my residency, my social security and my health but not very clear about requirement and documents needed for each step. Not even sure if residency CREU and with city hall are different things and which one is required for social security. Can somene european that passed through it tell me the steps? Or do you know someone providing a service for reasonable price to help me with these steps?. Also because i dont speak portuguese and with Covid i suppose i will need to do a lot over phone.
Thanks

Actually I have an appointment for the
CREU for 30th april. But in the mean time i cannot apply for social security? I plan to start as free lancer on may 3rd. I know that for the.forst year i am exempted from social security contribution but can i start without social security registration and only with tax registration.

Ciao Caligiu,

I think that it won't be a problem at all. Send all the documentation by email, mentioning everything that you have said here, i.e. that you are exempt in the first year, that you start the activity on 3rd May and that, due to the pandemic, town hall will only attend you on next 30th April.

Regarding professional services to these matters, you can always require a Solicitor. The Solicitor represents and advises/guides citizens and companies, towards public administration agencies, including Social Security.

Please choose one near where you live, in the following link.
