Post new topic

I was wondering if any expat was able to open a regular dirham account before they received their residency card. Thanks in advance

I think that you can only open a "convertible" bank account without a residency card.

Hi, you can only open a convertible Dh account without your residency card. Which can only accept all currencies beside DH.

Once you have your residency card a local DH account can be opened right away. Depending on What you require this for and what your situation is other advise can be offered.

Feel free to message privately should you want.

No possible as the Bank would request your residence permit Number (this is essential to enable your bank to open a regular DH account)

Hi public,

yes im resident in Morocco unfortunately i only speak english. However from the translation i believe you would like to no how to obtain a residency card. Best option would be to go to the local main police station in the city where you plan to be registered with your wife. ask for uptown date list of what is required.

Basically you would apply under family residency as your married to a Moroccan citizen. This is the simplest and easiest way.

You would require convertible dh bank account with some money inside as you have to show the police your bank statement stamped by the bank in morocco.
Local police record
Your home country police record.
Photo can't remember exactly how many but should be for the residency card.
marriage contract
residential address contract if your renting in Morocco. or proof of address so if you own an apartment then the titles if your staying with family a letter with them attesting your staying with them etc etc.
cost is 100dh per year. The first residency is only valid for one year. then you can increase it from year 2.

Hope this helps.

Fayyatha

Not sure if you were asking me if I am a resident, if so yes I have been for three years.
