UAE medical without X-ray

Post new topic

Hi everyone.

Does anyone know of a medical center in the UAE that does not require an X-ray for the residency visa?

My family has a long history of lung cancer and physicians have advised me to keep my exposure to radiation to an absolute minimum (this included x-rays, flying and living in high altitude regions).

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

It is not the medical center that decides these requirements.  It is UAE law and GAMCA guidelines which dictate that chest x-ray MUST be done.  The only exception is for pregnant women but even they, after delivery, must do it.

This means that the only way for you to get a "New" UAE residence visa is to get a chest x-ray done.  No way around it.   In fact, for any "Visa medical", they WILL do chest x-ray irrespective of which medical center you go to.   On the positive side, depending on the employer/emirate etc., on renewal of your visa, you may not need to repeat chest x-ray.   On "first time" visas, it is a must.
