Cost of second hand cars in Greece

Post new topic

Could I have opinions on why those costs are so high compared to what we see generally on the European market?

Unfortunately, Greece is a country that it started to recover after the crisis from 2010 - 2020 and immediately went into the coronavirus crisis which was followed by the Ukraine war.

What i mean is that:

- many people lost jobs/incomes
- new cars become more expensive
- climate laws make many cars unable to get into Athens
- inflation is up
- people try to make money from their used cars and prices go up.

So, what i suggest:

1) if you can live without a car for 2-3 or kore years, in order to see how things will settle AND most important, at the same time invest the money you would spend on a car (byu, gas, insurance, services, tires etc), then you will come out with a big amount of money that the interest/performance will pay for your doses for a car. I did that and now i have a brand new SUV that is being paid by my investments. Which means that i both have a car without actually paying plus all the money i would pay to get it, on my investment account. ;)

2) if you can't be without a car, keep looking and eventually something will come up. Buy straight from the owner, not from a shop, you will pay way more (obviously).

3) find a local that you trust to help you.

Where do you look for used cars?
