Post new topic

@Wreckit17

Yes, this is my first time EP. MoM asked for updated Resume and personal email id as additional documents.

Hope you will get it soon!
beppi
Simon: if MoM says the new thresholds apply to renewals later, then for now they will still use the older ones.

EPJune: Your employer should contact MoM to find out what is wrong!

@bhaskarnemala369 : Yup waiting patiently with hope.

I used to be PR, moved away for almost 10 years. I've been told EP application might take longer because of this (further background checks on my time in Singapore previously). Doesn't ease the anxiety though........

Applied: 5 May

Additional docs submitted: 3 weeks after

Approved: Today, 14 June - total 5 weeks, 5 days

Additional details: I have been on S pass for 7 years straight, last time I got EP was 2013-2015.

I was losing hope because this new company just recently opened their SG office, with 17 employees at the time my EP application was submitted.

EP applied: 29th April
EP appeal with additional documents submitted : 18th May
EP approved status: Pending
Industry:IT
Location:India

It's been more than 3 weeks since the documents for appeal submitted.
- @Wreckit17

My Ep got rejected again after the 1st appeal, even after providing the required educational background check report as requested by MOM.

Can somebody tell me what else can i do before submitting the 2nd appeal ? I mean, whether any additional documents to submit or should i recheck the study period dates, will this be an issue  ?

Please share your experience and provide your help. Thank you

Hi All,

To add another data point to the timeline,

@SmsT

@Fnso  Do you have how many % of salary gap? I am also IT sector.

Wreckit: You should find out the rejection reason and figure out how to address it, before any further appeal (which would be your last chance!).

My Case:

EP applied: 06th June
EP approved: Pending

Industry: Cyber Security
Current location: USA
Citizenship: Indian
Degree: Masters Degree from USA
Salary ~ 19k

Quick question: Since it has been after we submitted application, however, while checking the status of the application it throws this message, "No record found. Records older than 6 months are not shown."

Any Idea if this is bug and everyone sees  the same?

**Update: After 10 days, now when i check online it shows as Pending and Your Application is being processed.

Wondering is this expected or something to worry about?

Same thing happened to me. My company's agent mentioned it's happened before and not a concern.

Aug 2019-Feb2020 I was on work permit (performing artiste)

May 31, 2022 New employer applied S pass (Service Industry) for me, But it was rejected. The reason is because of my previous employment background.

I did research about work permit performing artiste, I can’t apply for any other Singapore Work Permit for at least one year after my current permit for performing artiste expires.

But its been 2 years already, what should I do? Can I ask my employer to apply for an appeal?
beppi
Jjoshi: Late entering of your application into MoM’s system is no concern, just delays the result.

Cflower: if the year is over, your rejection probably has a different cause. Ask your employer to find it out before any appeal

Quick question on the MOM Status check website what is this Expiry Date? Is that the first initial 6 months where I have to be in Singapore or is that the overall EP expiry date?
Your application has been approved. Check your In-Principle Approval (IPA) letter for the next steps.
Pass type: Employment Pass
Expiry date: 15 Dec 2022

Thanks everyone for all the help and answering my questions. Wishing luck for those who waiting and/or about to submit. Thanks

This could be the EP validity (shorter than usual) or the IPA validity (longer than usual).
Check whether the IPA letter tells you more - or ask your employer what they applied for!
jjoshi69

@beppi Cool thanks.

Shekhz

@jjoshi69 This is standard, it is the IPA validity. When your pass is issued (EP), that will have the validity of the pass. For a first timer in SG, or even when you switch jobs, the EP is issued for 1-2 years, renewal is generally 3 years.

jjoshi69

@Shekhz ahh awesome!! Thanks much this is a good relief 😊

jjoshi69

@Shekhz btw once I land in SG, do you know how much time it takes to get the EP pass on hand? And is there’s any link or something where the whole process is document after first time arrival and whats required in terms of address etc? Thanks again!

EP16

@EPJune22 Hi, i also have the same scenario. My EP was submitted last June 16 and until now it says no record found. Have you checked yours if it’s already reflected in their system?

EP16
Hi everyone,

My employer applied EP for me 2 Fridays ago but I when I check my application status on MOM’s eServices it says no application found.  My colleague with similar profile applied 1 week earlier and we can see his status as pending on eServices. Should I be pinging my employer again? Just wanted to ask if it’s normal for pending status to not show after 7 working days before asking my employer again.

Application submited: 3 June 2022
Nationality: Malaysian
Salary: 7k
Industry: Finance but relatively new company (~3 years)

Any help will be appreciated! Thank you!

Hi Everyone,

EP application: June 16
Nationality: Filipino
Salary: 7,300

My EP was submitted last June 16 by my employer however, when i checked my status it says ‘no record found’ until now. Is this normal or should i wait a couple of days for my information to reflect in the MOM system?

Hoping for your reply guys. I’m getting nervous as it’s my first time to apply in SG. Thank you.
jjoshi69

@EP16 It is normal. It happened to me as well.

Hi Everyone,
It is my first time posting here.
EP application: May 27
Nationality: Nepal
Education: PhD from South Korea
Currently at: South Korea (Postdoc Researcher)
Job Contract: NTU (Research Fellow)
Salary: 7515 Singapore dollar
YOE: 2 year 7 months as Postdoc
EP approval: Pending until today

Getting nervous as its my first time approach in SG. Thank you.
EP16

@jjoshi69 thank you for the prompt response. Does it really take 2 weeks to get the approval? Or it depends on MOM? While i was checking here, some would take 1 month pending status, some would get 2 weeks approval.

EP16

@jjoshi69 another question, how many days when your information was reflected in the system?

sireeshamaadala

@ramyavinodh anyupdate?

beppi
EP16: This is a very common question - and much discussed on the forum. Please try to find the information you need, before posting a question!
In short: It can take a week or more for your application to be entered into MoM's system (and you see "no record found" until then). If it takes much longer (say, two weeks or more), your employer should contact MoM to find out what is wrong.
After that, the application processing starts. There is a long, sticky thread about how long this takes and what influences it. Luck and random influences play a part, too, and most applications are completed between two weeks and two months - but special circumstances can deviate from this. There is nothing you can do to speed things up, but after more than two months the employer could ask MoM to expedite (e.g. if they need the employee urgently).
William Chang89
Hi, my employer applied for an EP on 20 May and I checked online today, 20 June and it got rejected. So the process took around 1 month. Not sure about why but waiting for my company to see what should be done next.
