About leaving vietnam to return

Post new topic

plegrove

On my evisa it says I can enter and Exit Through Hanoi Airport. Now can i exit through a land border instead of Hanoi airport

Are there any problems leaving that way.
Also what is the easiest country to enter without the test and insurance.
What i mean is there any other country like Vietnam that ask for nothing extra.

Cheers

As your e-Visa states an exit point, that is something new indeed.
See here for a recent thread concerning the e-Visa.

Border run to Thailand, here

Laos, here.

I believe, though I may be wrong, that Laos e-Visas are valid at only 5 points of entry.
Two land crossings from Thailand, and three international airports.

Plegrove, I spoke with the forum's VN experts/advisors about your question.

Is your exit point actually stated on your e-Visa, or was it requested only on your visa application?

Your response would be greatly appreciated.

Have checked this out and it seems all international border crossings will accept E-visas and visa on arrival.
This was from 9th May 2022.
This would include Wattay, Luang Prabang and Pakse airports and the 2 friendship bridges Vientiane and Savannakhet.

The OP was looking for land borders to exit and reenter, Stumpy gave the OP the Laos border crossings that can be used.

Thank you for that, Plegrove. Very much appreciate your letting us know.

Looks like Lao will not work for you for a land crossing from VN, as Lao e-Visas are accepted at only at 5 entry points. These being 3 int'l airports and two land crossings, both of which are from Thailand (thanks Stumpy!).

A great example of what happens when the quote function is not used.

Stumpy wasn't even replying to the OP (who said nothing about wanting to re-enter).

Stumpy was replying to other information posted about Laos, and both of the land border crossings he mentioned are Thai/Laos crossings.

If he had quoted the person to whom he was replying, I wouldn't have mentioned anything.

As a stand alone post from a forum expert, it lacked context.

Yes funny that I thought the same. I have actually done the Thailand (Chang Rai) to Pakse (Laos) land border entry crossing the Mekong there by small boat.

I received a response from the Lao e-Visa support staff regarding requirements for a VN-Lao border run.
