Being caught for not having a valid visa is usually through sweeps by LMRA / NPRA. Not CID.

The only time it happens, with CID involvement, is when you are caught for suspicion of any other illegal activity. The lack of valid visa at that time is an add-on.  Now, if you are proven innocent of the alleged crime when you are caught in this manner, you will STILL be deported.  And the fact that deportation happened as an ancillary process where the primary "unproven" suspicion was another crime, it usually results in a permanent ban.

As an example, I know of someone who was caught during a drugs sweep. The person was living in the apartment where the other party was selling drugs. This person had nothing to do with it but was present, was aware of what was happening and didn't have a valid visa. Guess what? they were charged, proven not guilty so no jail time but straight deportation for lack of a valid visa............and it's been 10 years that they have not been able to come back despite trying every option.

I own some apartments in Juffair and from time to time, I go to those buildings to either get them cleaned or to rent them out. I also have close friends in the building management companies. You will not realize how prevalent CID presence is - I have seen them myself a few times coming to the administration and asking about a particular tenant. And in the overwhelming majority of the cases, it seems to be about drugs.

Very little chance of getting a visa again if you were jailed for a criminal offence.
