Family Immigration - Need Advice Please :)

Hi all!

I am an American who is married to a Norwegian citizen. My husband and I submitted my family reunification paperwork to the local police station in September and were emailed by UDI two days later saying that our application had been accepted. Today is exactly 6 weeks since I received that email. The lady at the police station said that it was good that we applied in 2022 and that a lot of people are getting accepted in about 2 months. On the police website, it states that people in my region are getting replies in 4 to 8 weeks.

Waiting for a response is so gut-wrenching! I just want to know already!

Also, is there anyone that has a spouse who receives disability payments from NAV? I'm really worried about being denied as my husband had to get sosialhjelp while I was gone because the price of electricity was sky high. It states on the UDI website for those who receive disability payments:

"It is also acceptable if you have received the financial assistance from NAV as a one-time payment during the last twelve months."

Any advice? Thank you!

Are you talking about the str酶mstotte? Every private household is getting the electricity subsidy so I can't imagine that would be a reason to deny you

@ECS No, unfortunately, it was sosialhjelp. The kind that they say you can't have gotten in the past 12 months. The information on UDI is confusing because it says "no sosialhjelp," but then says if you're on NAV disability that you can get a one-off payment. It's confusing.

@Lille Bamsemums,聽 I think UDI will consider if you received economic social help ONCE in the past 12 months. But if the reference person is on social help for a couple of months ( in the past 12 months) then it is not accepted, also as a future income according to the UDI website.聽 About the disability pension, it is considered as an income. Hope this helps.
