Expat tax services in PR

Post new topic

miss.lmarie

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum but have seen really old posts regarding tax services for expats. Can anyone recommend a tax preparer/CPA that has experience/specializes in tax preparation for PR and also United States returns? I will need to file taxes for California and also Puerto Rico this year. Also, I am a federal employee here in PR so I'm not sure if that makes things even more complicated. . .

Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you!

Yes, it is hard to get competent accounting help. I highly recommend Fernando ***. As you can see he is also a lawyer and worked at Grant Thornton specifically on Act 60.

Hola! I have not received many recommendations besides what William posted. I checked under Tax Advisors in the ½ûÂþÌìÌà Business Directory and there is one person listed that works for H&R Block. I would love to go to H&R Block to get help with my taxes but it looks like all of the locations here in PR have permanently closed.

@miss.lmarie I think H&R have online support. You can also used eFile.com, but you will need to print it, sign it, and mail to IRS since IRS does not accept e-filed returns with Puerto Rico and other U.S. territory.

Just wanted to provide an update, I received a recommendation from a co-worker for a CPA. Currently working with them. If everything goes well, I will recommend them in the business directory.

Thank you all for the suggestions
