Criminal Record Certificate

Post new topic

Walnutted

Kalimera everyone!

I am new here and this forum has already proved invaluable, so thank you.

I initiated conversations with a lawyer about the pink slip visa a year ago and for various reasons did not follow up.

I have just re-initiated enquiries , there are 1 or 2 possible/probable niggles to resolve. I am planning to fly back to Cyprus early next week and just got off the phone to the lawyer , who , because of the bank holiday , was In a rush , very nice tho , and said to me he will re-visit my email trail and come back to me In next two days. I asked him If I needed to action anything whilst In the UK before I travel to Cyprus and he said something about a criminal record certificate.

Please could any one advise on what I need to do, who to go to, documents required etc and also can you think of anything else I need to action prior coming to Cyprus?

Many thanks and enjoy the day,

Jeff

Oops thats ACRO....

Toon

Not an oops at all....Heres another they all do a range of checks  including a criminal/police record check

I needed to obtain an ACRO cert and this this is where it was I ended up. h.t.t.p.s.://w.w.w.acro.police.uk/s/acro-services/police-certificates

I looked at my copies and it does not look like they were apostle. However, the immigration lawyer should give you all the details of the requirements. It is easier to get these when you are in the UK. They will send them to Cyprus but for additional costs and the post in Cyprus is not the best!

Walnutted

appreciated. Thanks Phil.

@Toon

What is apostle? Is It a Cypriot stamp of some kind?

Thanks

MacGeorge8035

@Walnutted hi, you need to an apostle stamp on any official uk document. We needed to get an apostle stamp for our Marriage certificate before we came to Cyprus. This will probably be needed for your Police Certificate. check out the following website for help on how to get the stamp.

The gov web site does apostles and I used them all easy and worked very well. Much cheaper than some of the advertised services and of course reliable

Hi guys I'm looking to buying a property in cyprus when I was a child in the uk and teenager early 20s I got in trouble with the police having fights at school and a shoplift from Asda I do believe they say you need a clean record but if it was over 10years ago I been talking to this lawyer and they are not giving me straight answers

MacGeorge8035

@dan bea It is not so much the offence but what the punishment was. You need to check whether your offence has been "spent" by contacting the ACRO Records office the website is here You need to read the step-down model and how it applies to your offences.

If your conviction is "spent" your criminal records certificate will show "No Live Trace", if you have never been convicted of an offence the certificate will show "No Trace. If you have a conviction that is not spent or have been accused of an offence that could lead to a conviction these will be shown on your certificate.

I have no idea how the Cyprus authorities will respond in each case. I suspect if the certificate shows "No Live Trace" or "No Trace then you should be fine. I will warn you the Cypriot immigration people can be a law unto themselves

Karenannmaddocks

Do the marriage certificates and criminalrecord certificates need to be the original documents or certified copies? Can you get a single apostille for a group of documents or do you need separate apostilles for each document?

telf

Each document must be an original and have its own unique apositled stamp
