Phone Service

Post new topic

Looking for some help regarding phones.

I want to keep my Canadian phone number to receive and make calls for business purposes.

I will also have a local phone for use in the DR.

VOIP service for phones seems to be the best option. Does anyone have experience with VOIP services? How does it work? Do you have any recommendations for companies in Canada that supply this service?  TIA

Welcome to the forums.  I can't help you but I know others will!

VOIP can work well if all you want to do is make phone calls. If you need a Canadian number for two-factor authentication, many VOIP options are not supported. We used OpenPhone for a US number for our first three years here, but then the 2FA issue got to be a pain.

We get a Claro Esim on our phones at 1800 RD / mo and a US Verizon international plan at $100/mo for our US numbers

Works well for us.    hopefully your provider has somet similar
