EP Processing time

Post new topic

SmolYuu

On MOM website, it mentioned that EP will be processed or given an update within 10 business days.

However, my EP application (submitted on 6 Dec) still keep showing Pending status on MOM check status website.

Does MOM not follow their own stated SLA of 10 business days?

I'm worried because I'm supposed to start work on 6th January and my rental lease starts on 1st January.

If my EP is delayed and I start work late, I will be paying 2,000SGD of rental for a place I'm not staying in with no income coming in for me too.

@SmolYuu EP processing time depends on invidiual applications. There are multiple posts on the same topic which you can go through. Without knowing your profile and Employers profile, no one can say how long will it take (even after knowing it can’t be said with surety).

also, you cannot rent a place without having a valid work visa. Please check with your agent. They will need your EP copy/details to sign ur rental agreement. I don’t see why you will be paying rentals without signing a contract and without working and living rights in SG.

@SmolYuu As above poster wrote, you cannot rent a place without a work visa. It is illegal. Since all landlords here know this, the only ones doing this are scammers.

If you paid anything yet for the apartment (e.g. deposit / first month rent / agent fee), then the money is most likely lost and you have no apartment either.

If so, please report it to the police!

Apart from this, how can you be sure your EP would be approved and you can actually move to and work in Singapore? EPs are often rejected for surprizing reasons, sometimes with no fault of the job seeker (and no recouse for him/her either)!
