onadieo Arabic is more complicated than french and english and bahasa , it's a very rich language , by the way i'm from Algeria ,and i'm native Arabic , so it's was so so easy for Arabic , however all the languages have same rules , at the begining it ll be hard then normal then easy and by practising it , it ll be so so easy , for exemple for me i have two months since i started learning bahasa and only online , no school or teacher , just a couple of good friends online in chat and some videos also and  here i'm ,  i have a medium level in bahasa , the first day i didn't know any word in bahasa 0.0 and now , saya menggerti bahasa dan saya barbahasa bahasa indonesia dan saya menulis bahasa ;) saya suka mengobrol dalam bahasa juga :)

Hi there Ihab.... How do you do...

I'm glad to see that you're learning Indonesian and I think you're making great progress. However, I'd just like to point out something "insignificant" that has always been said or referred to incorrectly...

The official language of Indonesia is called "Bahasa Indonesia", or simply "Indonesian" in English. Thus, calling it "Bahasa" is, unfortunately, incorrect and improper. For one, the word "Bahasa" itself directly translates to "language" in English. So if you say "I'm learning Bahasa", you're merely saying "I'm learning language"... I'm sure that's not what you intended to say now, isn't it?

Sadly enough, people have grown accustomed to using this wrong terminology, and even worse, a vast number of Indonesians themselves have started calling their own language "Bahasa".

Like I said in the beginning, this may seem to be something insignificant, and I probably start sounding like a hyper-critical person who enjoys pointing out other people's mistakes. Believe me I'm not, and I'm only saying this because I genuinely don't want you to walk around and saying something incorrectly.

So Ihab, happy learning "Indonesian" or selamat belajar "bahasa Indonesia"...! :-)
