Hey there! I've been reading some of the blogs posted here and I found it very informative and friendly. I'm going to live and work in Jakarta starting June 18. I hope I get to meet nice people so at least I will have "friends" there. So, if you are nice and you like drinking coffee and taking pictures plus going to the beach and having get togethers... I'd love to meet you!
cheers!
Welcome to Jakarta! By the time you get here, I'll be back to
Manila for a short vacation. What will be your work here, by
the way? Hope you can get to meet other Filipinos here.
Cheers2
Sybel
I'm a teacher. I hope to meet other people too.
i don't know yet because my boss hasn't updated me. but i'm based in jakarta.
Jakarta is a big, sprawling mess of a city. Soumds like you could be almost anywhere. You need that info before you can find out much of anything.
I'm not a lot into coffee but I can show you more than a few interesting places to take something better than a holiday snap.
There's a story behind that one.
Salam Kenal!! Hey Miss Kiki... u r planning to work on Jakarta??? i hope u have good time in here.. btw mas fred that pic was so describe how hard is living in Jakarta for some people (i think not "some" but many people!!), back to the topic : btw first i dont like coffee (im alot to tea or choco) but i can be ur friend for drink, for travel or go to beach (i love that too!!) and maybe i can show u interesting place in JKT if u want to try indonesian culinary from my ethnique is Bataknese okay.. simple right?? fyi its same conditions with filipino... That's great!! As much as possible I would like to have friends in Jakarta from different backgrounds and not just Filipinos. I might arrive in Jakarta on June 26 and not on the 18th. After I get settled, maybe we can all meet up and get to know each other. Thanks for the reply leeyougaga and mas fred.

I have a month off work at the moment so lots of free time. I have to take a jaunt to Wonosobo but, other than that, I'm free as a bird and always ready to take my camera out exploring. Even the centre of Jakarta has things of interest if you're willing to go where tourists don't.
It usually involves a lot of walking and using local mini buses.
That sounds fun! I prefer to walk around than keep on riding taxis or private cars since you can experience more and see more. I can't wait to get there. I wanna start working already! hehe!
In a taxi or private car you see pretty much nothing.
Perhaps I should start my photo blog again.
why not???that would be great..so just arrange the time when and where we want to go..i would love it to join. and take a walk that's my favourite one ;-)
Perhaps some time in the next week or so.
Interested people just shout up.
I'm in BSD. How about you guys?
next week not possible for me but after next week that's ok.I live in Bekasi but mostly i spent my time in jakarta (work and hang out).
my boss said that our training will start on the 27th until july 11. hmm... I might be busy once i get there but hopefully we can make a plan to meet up during weekends. I'll let you guys know.
Pretty much any time works for me.
Looks like central Jakarta is the starting point.
Miss K - Have you found out where you'll be stationed yet?
hey... count me in.... LOL :0
btw Miss Kiki i suggest u using telkom speedy for ur ISP, but if u r using modem i suggest u choose modem AHA (i think that fast enough...) have a good day.. XOXO Lee
I try to carry my camera most of the time of often regret it when I don't.
I missed some potentially good shots yesterday on the way home from shopping but managed an interesting one this morning on my way home.
It involves 2 people, a motor bike and a double bass.

I'm game. Old town sounds like a great place to take a camera.
I've never been. Any idea about the nearest train station?
i haven't found out yet because my telex hasn't arrive. I gotta say, reading about your plans makes me sooooo anxious to get there! I can hardly wait!!!

neareast the train station is old town.thats a good thing we can start from the place near the train station then go to the fatahillah museum.
I'll look it up on a map and work out a route from here to there.
My cam is a simple Olympus semi pro job but takes a good snap now and again when I drop lucky.
I'll be interesting to explore the old town.
Just down to when.
thanks for the suggestion Rossy! I don't know where i'll be staying yet. But when I get there, I'll contact you guys right away so we can get our plans going!
Perhaps it would be best to advise dates by PM so they don't get missed.
I'm free almost every day up to 6th july.
