Lung Scars

Hi! i need an immediate advise. I just recently signed a contract and i will be working in a logistics company in Ruwais,Abu Dhabi. I passed all the medical test except for my x-ray. They saw that i have a scars (tb scar) in my lungs. I got this scars 10yrs ago and I'm physically fit now. I've read that if you have the lungs scar you will be blacklisted/banned to enter UAE.
My question are :
1] do i still have the chance to have a working visa w/c my agency is still working on it? i'm not sure if my agency told to my employer that i have the scar.
2] Just in case i reach abu dhabi and undergone medical exams and found my scars again, what are the possibilities that might happened to me? can i ask for a help from my employer?
3] is there an exception to their rule about lung scar?
As of now I have a good job in my home country but I'm also considering to work in UAE. Just in case, I'm afraid to be deported and loose my job. thanks
Welcome to ½ûÂþÌìÌà jai-ronsk!
I hope that everything will be alright for you.

Lung scars are certainly visible on Chest CT and may be seen on Chest X-Ray and medical examinations for every expat employee includes chest X-Ray. If your lung scars are seen, the next action will be to send you for mantoux text to confirm exposure to PTB then if tested positive, next is to send you for sputum AFB to confirm active PTB. If you were just exposed to the causative organism and active PTB is ruled out, the employer usually keep the staff and just advise the concerned staff to go on medical consultation regularly to rule out recurrence.

Tuberculosis (TB): New resident expatriates will be tested for tuberculosis (TB), and denied a residence visa and deported if results are positive. TB sufferers are treated first before deportation at the Muhaisnah Medical Center in Dubai. If treatment takes longer than 2 months, they are transferred to Rashid Hospital infectious diseases ward. Expats renewing resident visas are not tested for TB. Khaleej Times reported 09 October 2010 that those with HIV and tuberculosis are deported and can come back to the country only after six months and if completely cured. Doesn't make sense for HIV as that is not curable as far as we know. Check with immigration before assuming that being cleared of TB means a reapplication is permitted.
Dear Bro, If they will find even a scar in your x-ray they will deport you. Even they will send you for sputum, skin and blood test but even if all the tests will be negative , still they will send you back.
There are only few chances tht by luck may be you will pass.
And this all information is 100% accurate.
hi I am also planning to go to UAE OR OMANÂ but I have scar in lung what should I do ? will I be rejected at both counteries ? what are the rules ? anybody there?
Hi Friends , My name is Rashid in Feb i went to Dubai for job and i was so happy after getting this Dubai job because one & half year back i did my MBA and after taking one & half year experience in corporate sales i got this opportunity but i think i did wrong and now i am thinking why i choose that opportunity and why i went Dubai everything was going fine here in India i had nice job and i was enjoying here in New Delhi India...reason of my thinking is that they declare me medically unfit because of lung scar and they did sputum test, montex test ( for active TB) and blood test all test were negative and i am so healthy and in India i already gone through medical test before joining of my last company and they cleared my medical but here in Dubai they deport me and put a life time ban on me......if they really wanna do this then why they took so much of test ....why ? if they have rule for the person who have scar on their lungs they used to deport that person and put a life time ban on them they why they are taking so many test ? what is the meaning of those test ... they are very harsh and they don't think about the career ...about the people...they have some laws and they are strictly following them now i came to India last month and i sat in my home without job for one month but now i got a good job here in india. Friends i also went through medical test here in India like CT scan, X - Rays. and yes i have small spot like a dot on my left lung and it happened because of minor TB which happened to me from some one and it healed itself with out any medicine in past because i was so young at that time and my immune system healed that TB at his Pre - Stage as per my pulmonologist report and he cleared me fit and i am so healthy. So friends if you are planning for a job in UAE the make sure that your lungs are clean means no scar else they wont listen you they will deport you and put a life time ban on you like me. if doing a job in overseas is your dream like me then choose far east countries like singapore, malaysia and many countries like australia, canada they signed only undertaking if you have history of Old TB .....and its medically approved that ones TB got treated then it will not activate in future bu I dont know why UAE have such rule not only in UAE this rule is apply and followed strictly by all gulf countries.......this is the actual story of mine.

Aslawalekum bhai agar aapki aur meri story same hain toh abhi Abhu Dhabhi mein kaisae hain.....khuda haafiz....bhai
Auriele yur welcome and thanks for reading my whole story i shared this because lots of people from other countries wanna go for job in UAE but when they will read this then at least they all will do there check up in there home country before joining any job in UAE ...becoz once they put medically unfit from there medical center then they never listen and think about the career of any individual because they are so harsh for these laws......and this all is a kind of inhumanity nothing else because many countries are flexible and considering such candidates and they hire becoz of there key skills......!
hi, i have a lung scar but when i came here in dubai, i never undergo x-ray but blood test only and god is good that he allowed me to work here in dubai w/out any problem and i only take blood test every renewal of my residence visa.
my fear is if i want to look for another job , another employer so most likely it will be transferrable visa . do i still need to undergo lung X-RAY or just blood test only ? if i hired in a free zone company, will X-Ray be required ?
When I working in Sharjah they found scar in my lung during the xray so I was to take a sputum test once and its was negative so I was able to have a residence visa. But when I was renewed by my company after 3 years of course they found the scar again so I was ask to be back at the clinic everyday for 5 days for sputum test and good thing I was negative again and able to work for another contract.
After a year our company transfer to Dubai so we have to do check up again good thing in Dubai they only do blood test so I got my result negative for blood test.
Does this clinic don't have previous record of the people doing the medical because it sometimes waste of time.
as far as I know if your sputum is negative I thing they will allow you to workd based on my past experience
I beg to disagree they found a scar in my lungs in an xray in Sharjah but they did not deport me immediately, they will sputum test first, if its negative like me they will allow you to work.
emirates247.com/news/emirates/ban-on-newcomers-with-tb-scar-outdated-2011-07-06-1.406149ally thankful for sharing your valuable stories and experiences with us about what happened with you in Dubai and Sharjah but please update yourself. This is the link below which clearly mention that they will surely deport you and also put a life time ban on you on the basis of just a scar on your lungs also they will not think that what is the main cause of this scar if some one have scar then it means that they have OLD TB history as per there medical authority and they have federal laws that people who have scar just deport them and put a life time ban on them.
Here's the link if some one want to know about there deportation and life time ban policy if any people have scar on there lungs and which clearly shows on X-Ray.

Are you sure they will allow to work if sputum test is negative (they will take three times sputum test) + one time montex test also negative ............i think NO.... go and search on internet there are many cases of the people who got deported because of scars just because of lung scar and they also put a life time ban on them. i am also one of them if you wanna know further any thing from me then you can discuss with me any time.
ALLAH BLESS YOU ALL.......!!!

i have a friend based in Dubai ,UAE who wants to shift better job he is already working in his current company for 10 yrs but his fear is the medical. he wants to avoid x-ray as he has lung scar so he wants to make sure that only blood test will be done . in case he got better job offer , can he possibly talk to his employer that blood test should only be done? others said if you are renewing residence visa, only blood test will be done but why i see some that they still get x-ray and blood test when they transfer new job. what is the medical process for dubai to freezone visa and freezone to dubai visa. i just want my friend to have peace of mind that he can freely find a better job without any hassels in medical. as far as i know, you will need only chest x-ray if you are new comer in UAE and when you went out uAE and came back. hope i can get clear answer for this.
I just had my blood test and CT, hope everything goes fine right now, and thanks everyone's sharing
Assalamalaikum Rashid Sb.
My story is as same as ur story, UAE federal law destroyed my career due to their unfair and unlawful law.
I have a small scar on my right lung but I have never been infected with that so called desease. They tested me so many times but all the time tests were negative...even then they deported me with the stamp of life BAN.
I surprised that nobody is raising his voice against this unlawful law...I wish Allah will Guide them...Ameen
hi tariq, when was your story happened, are you a new comer that time in UAE ?
Hello Anghelita
It was happened last year in July...yeah that was my first work visa or u can say last visa...
if it's your first work and first time to get residence visa then full x-ray and blood test will be done. unluckily UAE are strict even in lung scars.

Hi! Just wanna ask, if you went to Dubai thru agency in PHL?
Have you had your medical clearance(X-ray) done in PHL?
What did the agency said after knowing that you had a scar?
If you went to dubai thru agency, and allowed your x-ray to be passed while in PHL;
Is it a practice in dubai not to let new employees undergone x-ray again?
Or its just a big blessing not having x-ray after landing in dubai?
* pardon me for so many questions.. your answers will be greatly appreciated!

How long have you been working before they found out the scar?
If you started working before.. the first day you landed in Sharjah, haven't they found a scar on yours at that time?
