Culinary trip in Central Java in December
Hey guys, I'm Annie. I'm living in Ningbo, China at the moment but will fly back to Jakarta in December for a couple of weeks.
I'm planning on doing some sorta culinary trip down in Central Java for 3 or 4 days in mid December. Anyone fancy to join me? I know that its still a long way to go, but it's better if we can start planning.
You can also check out my blog here endrae.weebly.com
Hope to hear from you!
Annie
Selamat malam Annie,
my wife and I work in restaurant in Indonesia. She is a wine cellar and I am head chef.
I also give cooking lessons (french cuisine and pastry).
If ever you need any information for your culinary trip, feel free to ask.
See you.
Termanggung isn't far from Wonosobo.
There's a little warung called, "Zalie nasi gila".
Doesn't look much but the food is......just go.
Pop a toilet roll in the fridge first.

Hi Jeremie, selamat malam juga.
Which restaurant are you guys working for? I would love to give a visit when I'm back there
I'll make sure to pass the words about the cooking class to my friends.
Thank you so much!

There is one in Bintaro as well as loads of other places.
The best I've been to was in Magalang, Central Java but Bintaro is easier to get to if you don't have your own transport.
It's about 1km from Bintaro plaza, towards the toll road.
There are at least two in Jogjakarta.
I don't recall the name of the street but the one in an estate is terrible. The one on a main road is nice - no - very nice.
The Purwokerto branch is also very good. Opposite there is another restaurant. A really fantastic place that sells chicken and a load of other stuff.
Cross the road and look for a bamboo building.

Just an update on the event, please take a look here for more details if anyone fancy to join
I see you got SS in on that one.
You'll love the place.
The sambals are excellent.
My favoutite is sambal bullshit but the sambal terrorist is very good as well.
No - I'm not joking - they're the names they use.
Yes, following your advice
I am not sure if I should believe you about the names, pretty odd. LOL. But I guess there's only one way to find out!
Makasih banyak mas Fred!
(drooling still...)
and a lot more!!! Deb, sorry I had to sign out earlier. Getting ready to go to the gym! oh, and Soto Sokaraja! yummm!
Since I'm back in town, I'd like people to see this post again.
Anyone is welcome to join!!
PM me or write here.

Fred, the most handsome bule in Indonesia, is rarely serious.
However, this amazing sex machine of a man is always serious about food.
Now, what was that about the names?
And, while on the subject of spicy food.

Hotels in Purwokerto.
Depends on your budget but, if you're rich...
and it's 200m away from SS.
If you're poor...
but's it's safe and clean.
Also, handy for the town centre.
Hang on, the rates listed on that site are more than I paid. Just go in person.
Loads of other hotels if it's full.
