Hi everybody!
I will start my first trip to Ho Chi Minh city with my fiance on next week. I want to have a romantic dinner with him in that city. Do you know any restaurants that have good meal and romantic space? And also any landmarks we should and have to go? I really don't trust advertisements so i really need your advice. Btw, i am thinking a destination wedding so i can mark our first trip together. Do you know any wedding planners in Ho Chi Minh city?
Have you prepared for what is required to be married in Vietnam?Â
FYI >>>
Wedding
Unless one of you are resident in VietNam (Citizen, Resident or Work Permits) you cannot get married here. Additionally the paperwok is onerous and it takes over 30 days to get a date.
These are civil weddings, line up in an office and sign the book.
HongKong and Singapore have easy, spur of the moment weddings with minimal proof of single status.

nice to meet you, I have some advices for you. You should come to restaurant named STIX located on 174A Nguyễn Đình Chiểu, district 3. you can phone to book the seat. This restaurant is priced at normal rate. Furthermore, food and service are really good and waiters are so friendly and amicable. I believe you will like it.
Marie Brizard,
Sure you can go to an expansive place to dine but why not take a romantic stroll around TP HCM at night and see what interesting events that might bring about. The street vendors are pretty good in my options. Hope you guys find what you are looking for and enjoy your trip.
Marie
Doesn't seem that you have done your homework about Vietnam, nor the requirements for Americans to get married abroad from what you wrote: go on the your first trip together, know nothing about Vietnam, yet want a surprise wedding. Now look for a wedding planner. All of this in one week!!!
Boys, you know you'll yourself into? You'll need a lot of help.
Anyway, how about start slowly first, just a relaxing romantic evening.
Try
The bar on the rooftop has very good view to the river.
One more thing.
Since I assume you know nothing about Vietnam, and you want your trip to be as memorable as possible, I would highly recommend you to hire a tour guide or go on a good organized tour. There are many that can be customized to your desires.
However, if you want to test the strength of your relationship, there is nothing better than going on a safari on your own. Just keep one thing in mind: this ain't Kansas.

Stix is a new chain belonging to the Hoang Yen restaurant chain, which has good quality food. Have not been in the Stix in Nguyen Dinh Chieu, but should be OK. If you go eat a lot at Hoang Yen, they'll give you free voucher for stix as promotion . Their phone there in Nguyen Dinh Chieu is (08) 2224 1883. Note: it is not close to downtown.
FWIW: You should also research and prepare for the process of obtaining a US visa for your future spouse. The Consulate in HCMC is typically not a pleasant experience.

What's your deal, man??? Trying your hands at the promotion business?Â
Nonetheless, when I was new in Saigon, the Hoang Yen on Ngo Duc Ke was my favorite place for lunch.

Promotion? by saying that I have not tried them and the restaurant is far from downtown? . Not sure I'll get much referral commission with those wordings!

Right
They are still smarting from that, b*tching bitterly about certain VK who did pay his bill, and suspecting I would do the same. So it was you then?
hello,
why don't you spend it in a romantic restaurant or maybe in garden, candle light dinner, then hire a band/musicians who will sing for you while having your romantic moments.
If you need one, i can recommend my friends here.
Cheers!!
Howie
See your new avatar.

Are you sure, she can get married in Viet Nam. Viet Nam law only required a citizen of Vietnam when you want marriage registration in Vietnam. If you have already registered in another country and been accepted, you have the right to wedding ceremony in Vietnam. marriage registration and wedding ceremony are different

No, not an embassy employee.  I've obtained a US visa for a VN citizen spouse. It is a long, painful process at best.
