Apart from living expenses, in order to remain in KL it is necessary to have a permit, for example the Malaysia My 2nd Home (MM2H) 10 year social pass. Another way is to own a business which requires RM500k.

For MM2H a financial deposit is required - the amount depends on age bands (RM300k - RM150k).聽 Working is not allowed under this permit unless it is approved on a case by case basis and then only 20 hrs per week.聽 Liquid assets have to be available and a substantial regular income generated outside Malaysia.
