Hello everyone,

I am new here and have some questions, Is there someone familiar with taxes on retirement in Thailand? I've been told (so i'm not sure)that you don't have taxation on your pension. If i leave my country in Belgium, so i sell all my property and i don't have anything to do with this country anymore, do they send my monthly wages direct to a bank in Thailand without paying taxes in Belgium? Can i pay my social security in Thailand? What about a good architect to build a house and follow the work in progress?

Thank U

Hi. I can only speak as a retired Canadian. Your pension will not be taxed by the Thai government. Whether it is taxed by your own government will depend on their taxation laws. Canada will not automatically deposit pensions in a foreign bank. Therefore, both my pensions are deposited into a Canadian bank account which I access from Thailand. The Belgium government should have a website somewhere that details the tax laws for expats. Hope this helps a bit!
