Living and commuting from Brussels to Diegem ?

Post new topic

ewalsh

Hi all,

its possible that I may be moving to Brussels soon.

I would be working in Diegem, but I would like to live in or close to the city. Where would be the best place to live? I was thinking somewhere close to Noord station would be handy for the train etc. Are there buses out there too ?

Is it relatively safe living around the city ?

thanks folks

Hi!

The nearest plae in the City (Brussels) from Diegem is Evere. just on the north east edge of the city. There are buses from Evere towards Diegem/Zaventem. Also there are buses to City center (takes 20 mins). Alternatively; you can reach Diegem by train; but I will not suggest Nord as a place to stay. Not a safe area. Central maybe better.

Agreed re: Brussels Nord, super scuzzy area, where all the window hookers are (and I don't mean like the "nice" red light district of Amsterdam, just a trash neighborhood like in most places you find prostitutes).

Also lot of mugging / theft in / around Brussels Nord. Incidents have happened with people I know. I would suggest to avoid it and Midi (Zuid) if you have an option.
